SpeakWell Basketball & Acting Camps in November

We want to make you aware of an exciting opportunity presented by our friends at SpeakWell. During the week between the Fall and Winter Terms when we have scheduled a 3:15 p.m. dismissal, students can elect to participate in the John Wallace Basketball Camp or the Amy Hargreaves Acting Camp. Dear Harvey Community,

I am writing to tell you about an exciting initiative and partnership we are launching at The Harvey School. The SpeakWell program is a youth leadership and speaking program that through a structured curriculum helps students build confidence, believe in themselves, support one another, learn speaking skills, and underscore life skills. SpeakWell delivers its services through award-winning after-school programs, taught by international speaker and entrepreneur, Patty Kennedy; basketball camps taught by retired NBA player, NY Knick, and SpeakWell role model, John Wallace; and acting camps, taught by ‘Homeland’ and '13 Reasons Why’ Actress and SpeakWell role model, Amy Hargreaves.

SpeakWell is delighted to offer both the John Wallace Basketball Camp and Amy Hargreaves Acting Camp at The Harvey School November 15 -17 from 3 - 6 p.m. In addition to high-level basketball and acting skills, both camps integrate the SpeakWell youth leadership and public speaking lessons as well.

SpeakWell is a youth leadership and public speaking after-school program that helps students build confidence, believe in themselves, support one another, learn speaking skills, and underscore life skills. SpeakWell delivers its services through award-winning after-school programs, taught by international speaker and entrepreneur, Patty Kennedy; basketball camps taught by retired NBA player, NY Knick and SpeakWell role model, John Wallace; and acting camps, taught by Homeland and 13 Reasons Why Actress and SpeakWell role model, Amy Hargreaves. Structured as a social impact organization – SpeakWell also operates a separate 501c3 that raises money to offer the program and camps for students and schools in need. As part of the program, SpeakWell organizers also look to provide high-level opportunities for students to demonstrate their leadership. The original students were the first in the country from a K-8 school to each deliver TEDx talks. SpeakWell students and campers also have published national articles and spoken on panels alongside company executives at UBS, Facebook & BT.
