MS Update & Martin Luther King Jr.

Dear Middle School Families,

As we approach the halfway point of the year, I wanted to reach out and convey my appreciation for the efforts of our students both in and out of the classroom. Our winter athletic schedules are in full swing and rehearsals are ongoing for the winter theater performance. Toward the end of the term, students will take an exam in each of their core academic classes, beginning on February 23rd. A separate correspondence will be sent out including details about the exams.

Finally, I hope all families take time to discuss Martin Luther King, Jr. at some point this weekend. In history and art classes, students had an opportunity to discuss the new monument that is being unveiled in Boston in honor of Dr. King and his wife. Perhaps there has never been a more important time to reflect on his impact and legacy. Simply looking at one of his quotes as a family and reflecting on how it applies to our experiences today can be a powerful activity.
