MS - Early Dismissals and Exam Information
Dear Middle School Families,
As a reminder, 3:15 p.m. dismissals begin on Tuesday, February 21. Exams begin on Thursday and the school follows a special schedule. Students are only required to be on campus if they have an exam, but they will be assigned to a space for studying if they are present and do not have one. We have met with students over the past three weeks to discuss strategies and expectations. Today, our learning specialist Danielle Meyer and our associate learning specialist Keri Kiamie provided students with additional guidance regarding test-taking strategies and stress management. We also encouraged students to maintain healthy eating and sleeping habits, and utilize quiet spaces at home to study, free of distractions. Inevitably, students want to do their best on exams, but we have also emphasized the benefits of the process of preparing and managing their time.
Please note that all 7th grade students will take their SLOT 8 exams during the slot 3 time period to allow for more spacing between exams.
Students traveling to the train who do not have an afternoon exam can take the midday shuttle bus to the train. The bus will depart at 12 noon daily. Parents will need to email John DePalma, Logistics Director at jdepalma@harveyschool.org giving permission for their child to take the bus.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
