Tuition & Financial Aid

According to the Council for American Private Education, graduates of independent schools are significantly more likely to be ready for college-level work than their public school peers. This is why, for over one hundred years, families have chosen to send their children to independent schools, such as The Harvey School.

A Harvey education is a significant long-term investment in your child’s future. Many families who want the best for their children believe that they cannot afford independent school tuition. However, families should not let the cost deter them from applying to Harvey. The Harvey School is committed to attracting highly qualified and talented students from socio-economically diverse backgrounds. Families from a wide range of income levels apply and receive need-based financial aid toward tuition and take advantage of payment plans that allow families to make tuition payments over the course of the school year.

Tuition covers the cost of a Harvey education and includes breakfast and lunch. Additional costs include textbooks, school supplies, optional travel expenses for overnight school trips, private music instruction, and yearbooks. Bookstore charges range between $300 and $500 per year for each student.

  • Two- Month Installment Plan - payments due in July and October, or
  • Nine-Month Plan: payments due monthly July through March

Financial Aid

Harvey is committed to attracting a socioeconomically diverse student population. While the primary responsibility for financing a student’s education remains with the family, all families may apply for a financial aid award. Each year, Harvey allocates over $2 million in need-based financial aid. If you think you might need help financing a Harvey education, we encourage you to apply. Please note: the admission and financial aid review processes occur independently of each other and every request for financial aid is confidential.

Families interested in applying for financial aid must submit a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) through the School and Student Services by NAIS (SSS) to assess a family’s financial need and determine the potential amount of aid to be awarded. To learn more about the financial aid process and SSS, download the Family Guide to Financial Aid and visit the SSS website. The Harvey School is committed to providing aid during the student’s entire time at the School. Families must reapply for financial aid each year, and adjustments to an award may occur due to a change in a family’s financial situation. Financial Aid applications must be submitted by February 1st in order to receive full consideration. Qualified families applying after the deadline are awarded aid if funds are still available.

The Harvey School SSS ID number is 3742.
