We welcomed back students, families, faculty, and staff with orientations, socials, BBQs and an extra helping of Harvey spirit this week! Middle School students were back in class Tuesday, September 4, while orientations were held in Upper School. Freshman Fest--a three-hour orientation and afternoon of activities allowed all our ninth-graders the opportunity to meet new classmates, reconnect with friends and faculty, and familiarize themselves with campus. New Harvey sophomores, juniors and seniors were also invited to a welcome orientation that afternoon, and seniors capped off the day with a Senior Bridge BBQ officially marking the start of their year as Harvey seniors. New families braved the heat to meet faculty, staff, and other parents at the New Parent Social.
As in Harvey tradition, the first day of classes began with the 103rd convocation, where Head of School Bill Knauer set the tone for the new school year, asking the community to lead with courage and kindness. We're happy to welcome all our students back to campus, and we're energized for the year ahead!
