The Harvey School Chorus celebrated Leonard Bernstein and The Beatles at their jubilant Chorus Concert, “The Songs Live In You,” in Lasdon Theater, May 6. The audience was treated to a musical feast of selections performed by the Upper School Chorus, Middle School Chorus, Combined Choruses, Chamber Singers, and the Women’s Ensemble.
Songs included choral selections from musicals "West Side Story," "Candide," "My Fair Lady," and "The Greatest Showman." Wonderful renditions of many Beatles songs, as well as familiar songs, “Walk in Jerusalem,” “Lonesome Road,” “Teach Your Children,” and “We Shall Overcome” were just some of the numbers that delighted the audience.

It was a sentimental evening as Director of Choruses and Harvey music teacher Kathy Cushman was recognized by her students for her contribution to Harvey’s music program. Ms. Cushman will be retiring from Harvey in June after 16 years of teaching students how to appreciate, sing, and love music. Many thanks to the rest of the production staff -- Accompanist and Co-Conductor Zachary Wright, Accompanist Joseph Brewer, and Technical Director Megan Taylor.
