As a parent, we know that you are both wanting to keep your family safe, and looking for ways to ensure your children have a fun summer, filled with enriching activities. This summer, we’ll support families by offering ways for kids and teens to be active and continue learning - in a safe environment.
Harvey will be hosting a summer camp program. In order to create a healthy and fun environment for families and camp staff, the programs will look different this year. As guidelines are being released from the State Health Department on summer programs, we are building plans for both an on-campus and a virtual camp!
All summer camps in New York State come under the jurisdiction of county health departments. If we are permitted to operate, The Westchester County Department of Health will provide us with guidelines and recommended safety precautions that we will implement along with the guidance and expertise of The Harvey School’s health and safety professionals. As always, the safety of our campers is our first priority, and we will meet or exceed all requirements.
We are now moving ahead with two models. First, we continue to establish the foundations for our regular summer camp experience, recognizing that we will have to open with modifications. Second, we will offer an online option that will run no matter what in order to offer opportunities for children who may not be able to join us on campus this summer for whatever reason.
If we are unable to run our programs this summer, we will offer families two options. They can apply their payments towards the 2021 summer camp or receive a full refund. We will also provide parents with a two-week window in which they can withdraw after reviewing additional State safety protocols and procedures that may be put in place.
