Summer Academies

Week-long programs that focus on athleticism, sportsmanship, and skills, while developing well-rounded athletes.

Mike Weaver defense first camp (August 12 - 16, 2024)

Open to players ages 11 - 17

Harvey Hockey is excited to partner with Mike Weaver's Defense First Hockey School, the only professional defense hockey school of its kind. The cutting-edge approach of Mike Weaver's curriculum incorporates the fundamentals of hockey, as most hockey schools will do, but what makes Defense First uniquely effective is the time spent devoted to the mental skills and how to “think the game.” This attention to detail gives players an added advantage, that “extra element” that coaches and scouts are always looking for.

“Defense wins championships.” Defense First allows defensive players to reach their maximum potential and achieve individual success. They provide on-ice instruction, discussions focused on nutrition, off-ice conditioning, goal setting, and instruction in work ethic/good character.
