Girls Flag Bedford Summer Camp at The Harvey School brings girls of all skill levels together for a week packed with learning, confidence-building, and unforgettable friendships. Rooted in our core values of sportsmanship, skill development, and growth through experience, this camp delivers everything that makes Girls Flag Bedford special—plus a full 5-on-5 game every single day!

Campers will sharpen their football IQ, boost their speed and agility, and level up their in-game skills while having nonstop fun in a positive, uplifting environment. Every girl plays, every girl grows, and every girl is celebrated both on and off the field. This summer camp will be fast, fun, and full of touchdowns!

Meet The Directors

Flag Football Coaches

Coach John Praino is a lifelong athlete and veteran fitness professional with 28 years of experience in physical education, coaching, and athletic development. He played football and baseball at Mahopac high school and continued on to play Division I baseball at C.W. Post. He is a New York State Certified PE Teacher, spending nearly three decades helping young athletes build strong foundations in movement, confidence, and wellness.

In the fitness industry, John became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and NCI Certified Nutrition Coach in 1998. He went on to operate a successful Training for Warriors affiliate for 12 years before selling it in 2024. John has also coached at both Yonkers and Byram Hills High Schools and, in 2024, founded Girls Flag Bedford now entering its third Winter Season and growing faster than ever.

Coach Simon Berk is the Head Football and Girls Flag Football Coach at Byram Hills High School. A former Fairfield University lacrosse player who helped lead the Stags to their first NCAA Tournament appearance, Simon has spent his career teaching, coaching, and building winning cultures.

He has coached football and lacrosse across New York and Massachusetts, later becoming Head Football Coach at both Hackley School and Byram Hills. In 2022, he launched the first-ever Girls Flag Football program at Byram Hills, which he continues to lead. Simon is also a Social Studies teacher in Rye, known for his steady leadership and student-first approach.
