Summer Programs FAQ

• 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
• Drop off begins at 8:45 a.m.
• Pick up begins at 3:45 p.m. and goes to 4:15 p.m.
• Camp Offices Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

• Arrive between 8:45-9:15 am.
• Enter the school’s driveway at 260 Jay Street and come up the hill to our guard booth. You will be directed to the back of campus to drop off your child at the sidewalk between the art center and the main building.
• Children must exit the car from the passenger side.
• Campers will report to their first period class for the day.

We will be using the Pikmykid app for dismissal.  Information regarding downloading and using this app will be provided via email.  

• Dismissal begins at 3:45 pm.
• Follow the same route to the sidewalk between the art center and the main building as drop off. 
• We will bring the campers out to your car.  Please don’t arrive earlier than 3:45 p.m. 

Please cooperate with our security staff and make sure that if anyone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up your child, that we have them listed as authorized to do so. 

Please Note - Parents are not allowed to leave their cars or enter any buildings.

Campers should carry a small backpack with only the items they need each day. We strongly recommend keeping valuables home. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. We strongly discourage campers from carrying cell phones and they are strictly prohibited from use during class time. 

• Water Bottle: We have filling stations and water fountains available in each of our buildings. We recommend that campers carry and fill reusable water bottles. Please be sure bottles are clearly marked with your camper’s name.
• Sunscreen: You may send it in with your child along with a note, as required by the NYS Department of Health stating your child has permission to carry and apply the sunscreen.
• Bathing Suit & Towel: Please review your child’s schedule to bring on swim days.
• Smock: For any art classes

If your child requires medication during the camp day, please make arrangements to drop it off at the camp office along with this form and dispensing orders from your child’s physician. 

Lunch is provided daily. 

If you prefer to send your child with lunch, please use a paper bag with the camper’s name and group name written on it. Label any plastic reusable beverage or food containers. Please no glass bottles or peanut/tree nut products. We will provide refrigeration.

The Harvey School is an independent co-ed college preparatory school serving grades 6-12. While we do have some Harvey School students attending our programs, a majority of our campers come from all over Westchester/Putnam counties and even Connecticut.

Campers are required to stay with their assigned groups.  Because of this, schedule changes are not possible.

We strongly discourage campers from carrying cell phones and they are strictly prohibited from use during class time. 

• Early Dismissal: If you are picking your child up early, we ask that you do so no later than 3 p.m. We will also need an email in the morning that specifies the pick-up time. You will need to notify security at the booth for us to retrieve your camper and walk them out to you.
• Late Arrival: For late arrival (after 9:30 a.m.), parents should stop at the guard booth and Security will call the office.  We will accompany your child to class.

All campers must wear athletic clothing that is appropriate for being upside down, leotards and leggings are best. Socks. No jewelry. Hair must be tied back.

Adhering to the attire policy is important for safety purposes due to the nature of the activities.

Circus Camp is a mix of "troupe" activity (everyone working together) and small group activity during skill workshops. Groups are based on many factors such as skill level, interest, age, and choreography. Existing friends are never too far from each other and new friendships are encouraged as well.

Yes! Circus is a performing art. The showcase is a fun, non-competitive, and safe way to build confidence and validate all the wonderful new skills learned in camp!  Many of our campers have never performed before and our trainers encourage them to find their own artistic voice and confidence in the process. 

We foster a culture that starts with "try everything" in order to discover new things, take safe risks, and grow. From there, interest and talents emerge and campers can then start to choose specialty areas that they would like to focus on and feature in the showcase.
