Meet The Directors

Circus Camp Directors

The heart and soul of Westchester Circus Arts begins with its Directors - Carlo Pellegrini and Hilary Sweeney. As long-time circus performers, they partnered up to bring the highest quality circus instruction to the area. Their unique summer program builds 'gravity-defying' skills, self-discipline, and confidence in children and teens.

Carlo Pellegrini is a veteran circus performer who traveled the world with Royal Lichtenstein Circus, Big Apple Circus, and Nikolais Dance Theater.  He is an accomplished Ringmaster, Juggler, and European-style clown. He is also a social circus educator and board member of the American Youth Circus Organization. His mission is to pass on the venerable traditions of the American Circus to the next generation through performance and education.

Hilary Sweeney has performed as an aerialist with Royal Hanneford Circus, Cirque le Masque, “Above the Belt” Off-Broadway, and numerous special events for clients including Mercedes Benz, MTV, the NY International Auto Show, Bloomberg, PepsiCo, and more. Prior to her circus career, she has an extensive background in ballet. As the founder of Westchester Circus Arts, she was a recipient of the Westchester Business Council’s 40-under-40 Rising Stars Award. She aims to inspire future generations of young women to soar confidently to new heights in their lives.
