Down five players, Harvey varsity volleyball traveled to Stamford, CT to take on Cardinal Kung Academy on Sept. 30. The Cavaliers had to make a few adjustments due to the missing players, so it took some time for the team to produce results.

The first and second sets were dominated by the home team, but Harvey still managed to display some quality plays. In the third set, the Harvey team started to put their plays together, despite being 8 points down. Harvey chipped away point by point led by 8 serving points by sophomore Jadyn Lurie to tie the set at 23:23 before Cardinal Kung called a time out to stop the momentum. However, the time out came a bit too late for the home team as Lurie led Harvey to a winning third set.

The third set took a lot of power out of the Harvey team, resulting in being unable to keep up their level of play and losing the 4th and final set. Cardinal Kung took the match win 3-1.

"Jadyn Luire played her best game of the season," said Coach Arnautovic. "She was active at the net recording 2 monster blocks, had 5 kills, 5 digs, and passed the ball very well."

Next to Lurie, fellow sophomore Lucy LiCalzi at Libero played very well, from serving, passing to setting, she kept the team in the game.

The team looks ahead to their next game on Oct. 7 away vs. Westover.
