Coming of their first win of the season Monday, a 6-3 victory over King, the Cavaliers kept the good vibes going Wednesday, Jan. 14 with a 4-1 defeat of the Millbrook School Mustangs at Evarts Rink.

Harvey jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just two minutes into the game when sophomore forward Marlin Bieber banged home a loose puck in front of the Millbrook net. The Cavs added another first period goal when junior defenseman Ryan Cuddy scored, his goal coming off a great shot from the point by freshman defenseman Jackson Bogardus.

It stayed 2-0 Harvey until halfway through the second period when Millbrook scored what would be its first and only goal. Harvey held the 2-1 lead entering the final period.

In the third period, senior defenseman Jack Bennett made a great individual effort  and was able to snipe a corner to extend the lead to  3-1. Later in the final period, junior forward Dylan Cuddy capped the scoring for Harvey when he skated down on a breakaway and made a beautiful forehand fake and was able to score.

Sophomore goalie Linus Lindahl had another outstanding game, recording 35 saves. “Linus was very strong and made it easy for his defenders in front of him,” said Harvey coach Cian Keohane. “Linus has been the backbone of our team, giving us a true chance to win every game,’ added the coach.

With the win, Harvey’s record improves to 2-4-1. The Cavs have a bit of a layoff until  Thursday, Jan. 22 when they travel to take on Greenwich Country Day School. The game is slated to start at 7 p.m. at the Greenwich Skating Club.
