Indoor track and field action

The Harvey School athletics department has announced the names of the top male and female student-athletes of the 2025-26 winter term. They are seniors O’Neil Ellis and Mollie Weisberger, who were teammates and co-captains on the winter indoor track and field team while earning Cavalier Scholar certificates for achieving GPAs of over 4.00.

Among the events in which O’Neil competed, he made his mark this winter by setting the 200-meter and 55-meter records, becoming the first Harvey athlete to break the seven-second barrier in the 55-meter dash, running it in 6.88 seconds. Mollie also enjoyed tremendous success in the winter season, tying her school record in the high jump with a record-setting jump of 4ft 11in and firmly establishing a school record in the 55-meter dash, running it in 7.93 seconds.

Harvey track and field coach Christian Coscio offered high praise of his two top student-athletes. “O'Neil and Mollie are two of the hardest-working and most dedicated athletes in this sport,” track coach Christian Coscio said, adding, “Their commitment to the team and overall leadership is unparalleled.”

During the winter term Mollie announced that she will be attending the University of Rochester and participate in its NCAA Division III track and field program. O’Neil is Fordham University bound.

Neither O’Neil nor Mollie is resting on their laurels this spring. Serving as co-captains on the outdoor track and field program, the two outstanding student-athletes are continuing to excel in their spring season events.
