Harvey’s JV navy boys basketball team came out on top of a hard-fought game Tuesday, Jan. 14 against the Forman Lions, winning 49-42 on the road in Litchfield, Connecticut.

Harvey’s Darron Yelling scored the first basket of the game and would go on to lead all scorers with 18 points. Despite solid shooting, Harvey was trailing Forman 21-18 at the half.

In the second half, however, the Cavaliers dialed up the intensity, maintaining a full-court press for the remainder of the game and scoring in transition. Ethan Gabin and Theo Yanni contributed two 3-pointers each, and Luke Perlyn notched 10 points of his own.

Good free-throw shooting from Hyujun Lee in the final minutes of the game allowed Harvey to seal the deal.

After the game, Harvey coach Matt Zazzarino said, “I was glad to see our team make such a unified effort. We shared the ball well and leaned into our athleticism.”

With this win, the JV navy team evens their record at 2-2 on the season. The navy Cavs play their next game Wednesday, Jan.22, when they take on Our Lady of Lourdes at home.
