They didn’t get a victory Wednesday, April 29, in their final home game of the season, but the Harvey girls lacrosse team still had much to celebrate despite their 13-9 loss at home to Forman.

The final score does not reflect how competitive the match was. Forman took a 4-2 lead in the first quarter with both Harvey goals coming from sophomore Ruth Doran.

The second quarter saw sophomore midfielder Ruth Doran score again, but the celebration centered on Ruth’s sister Izzy, a sophomore attacker, who scored her first career goal on an assist from her sibling. Forman led 7-4 at halftime in what remained a close game.

In the third quarter, senior captain Talya Langer collected two of Harvey’s three goals in the period. Ruth Doran, also scored a goal, her fourth of the game. It was a 9-7 lead for Forman after three quarters.

The fourth quarter belonged to Forman who outscored Harvey 4-2 in the final frame. to secure the victory over the Cavs. Ruth Doran scored her fifth and six goals of the game, one coming on an assist from her sister..

Harvey coach Elizabeth Kavounas found a bright silver lining in the Senior Day  loss. “Even with the score as it was, this was an amazing game to be a part of,” Coach Kavounas said. “We really came together and showed off all the work that we have done this past season,” the coach said. She added, “We had a lot of things to celebrate in this game –  Izzy with her first varsity goal, Talya, Rizlane (Mall), and Tory (Janush) playing in their senior game in our last home game, and lots of parents and supporters showing up at the game. This has been a fun journey to be a part of.”

Harvey’s record is 2-4. The Cavs wrap up the regular season with games on the road next week. They play Williams Monday, May 4 and Storm King, Wednesday, May 6
