Harvey’s boys varsity basketball team jumped out to a huge 53-19 first half lead on the road against HVAL rival Forman Friday, Jan. 17, helping the Cavaliers cruise to an 80-30 victory.

The Cavs’ sparkling defense set the tone early on and gave the offense a ton of scoring opportunities. “Our guys played an organized, high-pressure defense that forced Forman turnovers which converted into easy baskets for us,” said Harvey coach Connor Welles. Harvey enjoyed a 34-point lead at halftime. The second half was more of the same for the Cavs.

Junior guard Piotr Pawel Pajewski led Harvey with 17 points. Senior captain Jonah Kass had 16, and freshman guard Derek Lugo added 12.

Harvey, now 3-0 in the HVAL and 6-3 overall, returns to action Wednesday, Jan. 22, on the road against Rye Country Day School. Tip-off is 5:45 p.m.
