MS Coed Soccer Gets Season Underway
The players on Harvey’s Middle School coed soccer team got their first taste of interscholastic competition at home Thursday, Sept. 30, in a game that ultimately went to the Bruins of Brunswick, 7-1.
Harvey coach Michael Fink said his Cavaliers “played with heart.” The coach describes the squad as “a scrappy bunch made up of a mix of experienced players, backyard kickers, and some enthusiastic newbies.”
The lone Harvey tally came off the foot of Daniel Lehman, who blasted a 30-yard beauty over the head of a stunned Brunswick goalie.
The Cavaliers will look to continue to improve as they travel to the Winward School Thursday, Oct. 7. “With some improved defense and crisp passing, Harvey will be up for the challenging match,” Coach Fink said.
