International Student Program

A Real American Experience.

Our international students are an integral part of our student body, participating in the same academic courses, after-school activities, clubs, athletics, and student leadership opportunities as do all Harvey students.

Imagine Yourself Here

The Harvey campus is nestled in the historic and scenic Hudson River Valley about an hour -- by train or by car -- from New York City, with its world-famous museums, theater, shopping, and cuisine. Katonah is a classic American small town with tree-lined streets and Victorian-era houses. Its town center is a blend of quaint and cosmopolitan restaurants and shopping.

5+2 Boarding Program

Our 5+2 unique boarding program gives our international students the best of both worlds - a weekday dorm life on campus experience and staying with a local host family on weekends. This arrangement provides a fully immersive experience for students in American language and culture.

Individualized Experience

Every student at Harvey receives individualized support, the opportunity to participate in field trips that broaden their own perspectives, and personalized college counseling guidance.

Welcoming Community

The Harvey School encourages English-proficient students in grades 9-12 from all over the world to consider joining our thriving student body.

The Harvey School is located on an expansive 125-acre campus that allows for a wide array of opportunities for students to pursue study in academics, athletics, and the arts.

Hear About Our Experience

"In the last four years at Harvey, I evolved from a girl who was not confident into a girl who is. I think it's because I found things at Harvey that I really enjoy doing. The pieces of art I made got recognition and appreciated by other people which gave me so much confidence."

Parent of International Student

"What initially drew us in the most about The Harvey School is that the students can live on campus and communicated with each other. Additionally, Harvey has arranged it so that during holidays and weekends, the kids can go spend some time with their host families. They experience many facets of life in America."

Host Mother

"The original idea of bringing a host student into our home and family was to expand our cultural horizons. We gained another child in some ways. I often call Yolanda my 'sometimes' daughter."

International Student

"Before I came to Harvey, I wasn't a person who was into sports. I started playing volleyball which I had never done before. I also played tennis and basketball. Harvey has given me a lot of courage to try new things, to take risks. Even if I'm not always successful, at least now I have the courage to make an attempt."   --Lily '19
