About Harvey

International students outside at table

Our international students are an integral part of our student body, participating in the same academic courses, after-school activities, clubs, athletics, and student leadership opportunities as do all Harvey students.

The Harvey School encourages English-proficient students in grades 9-12 from all over the world to consider joining our thriving student body. Currently, we have international students from eight countries attending Harvey Upper School.

As we do not offer traditional ESL instruction, we offer all entering international students an English reading/writing workshop during their first and second enrolled year.

Admission Requirements

In addition to satisfying the standard application requirements, which include transcripts from their current school, students must submit at least two recommendation letters (one from an English teacher), and undergo an interview. International students are required to submit an English proficiency score or a TOEFL (score of  70 or above). and a written statement on how they would benefit from a Harvey education.

Being an international student at Harvey is a completely immersive experience that will benefit students for a lifetime.

5+2 Boarding

International students

Our 5+2 unique boarding program gives our international students the best of both worlds - a weekday dorm life on campus experience and staying with a local host family on weekends. This arrangement provides a fully immersive experience for students in American language and culture.
