It's Time to Choose a School That Fits.

Choosing the right school is an exciting and important endeavor. Our admissions process is all about finding the proper fit. We want applicants and their families to get to know us as we learn about each candidate’s talents, goals, and readiness for our dynamic academic environment.

Let's Get Started.

We take a holistic approach to the admissions process in which each applicant's academic record, progress in school, teacher recommendations, personal attributes, and special interests are carefully evaluated by our Admissions Committee.

To support this approach, we ask our applicants to take The Character Skills Snapshot as part of their application.

This will enrich the information we have about them and show us areas where our community can help them grow and thrive.

The deadline for applications is February 1. In order to receive a first-round decision by February 23, all required application materials must be on file with the Admissions Office by February 8. Applications received after February 1 or completed after February 8 will be considered on a rolling basis.

The Harvey School uses the Standard Application Online (SAO). To learn more about using the SAO and begin your application, click on the link below.

First-time users will be prompted to create an account to access the application.

A non-refundable fee of $65 is due with the application.

Inquire

If you have not previously done so, please complete and submit our online inquiry form. This will add your family to our mailing list to receive information regarding admissions, campus news, and upcoming school events.

Visit

You don’t have to wait for your interview day to visit us. No matter where you are in your process, we would love to meet you and show you our campus! Please consider attending an admissions event or take a small group tour.

Testing

The submission of the following standardized test scores (e.g.ISEE, SSAT, or PSAT) is optional:

  • Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)

  • Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)

  • PSAT, SAT, ACT (may be submitted for applicants to grades 11 and 12)

All applicants are required to take The Character Skills Snapshot. For students who take the SSAT, there is no charge to take The Snapshot. Once you register for an SSAT, you will receive an invitation to take The Snapshot.

Students not planning to take the SSAT, there is a $35 fee for non-SSAT test takers. Fee waivers are available for those who require financial assistance to take The Snapshot. Please contact us if you require a fee waiver.

Interview

An interview is a required part of the admission process. At least one parent or guardian should accompany the applicant. We will conduct separate interviews with the applicant and parent(s)/guardian(s) and applicants will complete an impromptu writing sample. You can expect the interview process to take about one hour. Candidates and families that have not already visited the campus may also arrange for a tour following their interview.

You will be contacted to schedule an interview upon the receipt of Student Profile, Parent Statement, and Student Essay.

Writing Sample

When students come for their interview they will also be asked to complete a writing sample. Students may opt to submit an additional essay if they would like.
