It's Time to Choose a School That Fits.
Choosing the right school is an exciting and important endeavor. Our admissions process is all about finding the proper fit. We want applicants and their families to get to know us as we learn about each candidate’s talents, goals, and readiness for our dynamic academic environment.
Let's Get Started.
We take a holistic approach to the admissions process in which each applicant's academic record, progress in school, teacher recommendations, personal attributes, and special interests are carefully evaluated by our Admissions Committee
To support this approach, we ask our applicants to take The Character Skills Snapshot as part of their application.
This will enrich the information we have about them and show us areas where our community can help them grow and thrive.
The deadline for applications is February 1. In order to receive a first-round decision by February 23, all required application materials must be on file with the Admissions Office by February 8. Applications received after February 1 or completed after February 8 will be considered on a rolling basis.
First-time users will be prompted to create an account to access the application.
A non-refundable fee of $50 is due with the application.
All applicants are required to take the Character Skills Snapshot for which there is a $35 fee. If you are planning to have your child take the SSAT (NOT REQUIRED BY HARVEY SCHOOL), this will include access to take The Snapshot at no extra cost. You must register for the SSAT first. Students who do not take the SSAT will receive email notification of access to the CSS once we receive your online application.
Applicants may opt to submit the following scores for the Admissions Committee’s consideration - these tests are not required:
- Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT)
- Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)
- PSAT, SAT, ACT (may be submitted for applicants to grades 11 and 12)
Applicants may also submit the results of any educational testing and/or evaluations that they would like the admissions committee to consider.
An interview is a required part of the admission process. Upon our receipt of your completed application form, we will contact you to arrange separate (back-to-back) interviews with the applicant and parent(s)/guardian(s). This gives the Admission Officer a chance to get to know the applicant and their family. You can expect the interview process to take about an hour.
Candidates and families that have not already visited the campus may also arrange for a tour following their interview.
A completed application file includes:
- Transcripts and/or report card from current school and all previously attended schools
- 1 School Recommendation (from current school counselor or principal)
- 1 English Teacher Recommendation (from the student's current English teacher)
- 1 Math Teacher Recommendation (from the student's current math teacher)
