We intentionally keep our classes small to ensure our students are able to find their voice and learn to use it on their educational journey. Teachers encourage each student to ask questions and join the discussion. Our classes are more vibrant and stimulating when all voices are shared and heard.

We believe a great education leads to greater possibilities, but not if students are too stressed to focus and learn. We personalize an educational journey to be as unique as each individual student. Opportunities abound to take academic risks, try new things, and unlock potential and new interests, without feeling the pressure to be perfect all the time.

Dynamic Teachers
Mentors and Role Models
Our attentive, knowledgeable, and caring teachers provide just the right mix of encouragement, support, discipline, and challenge for our students to thrive. With traditional teaching methods combined with cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary instruction, we give students a hands-on, all-in, immersive educational experience.
Middle School
Love School
Our middle school teachers are scientists, coders, musicians, mathematicians, writers, adventurers, painters, and athletes who love to teach and spread the joy of learning. These are vital years focused on acquiring the skills necessary to tackle the challenges of high school. Now is the time for students in grades 6-8 to gain confidence academically, emotionally, and socially - and love doing it!
Upper School
Be Ready
Our students feel confident exploring their talents, abilities, and personal interests while preparing themselves for college. With a wide array of curriculum tracks along with engaging electives, students reach their highest level of academic success and feel ready for what comes next.
CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO
Explore
A wide range of electives means students have a choice in their curriculum. They can pursue their interests and also learn something new. They don't have to settle for a one-size-fits-all education.
Engineer
Our award-winning robotics and STEM programs gives students an upper hand in their study of engineering, computer science, coding, design engineering, and mathematics. Students design, build, and code robots and drones, and compete against the best robotics teams across the nation and the world.
Lead
Our Student Ambassadors are leaders and role models at Harvey. Whether they are giving tours and speaking with prospective families, participating in a student panel or being a positive presence in class and on our athletic fields, they lead by example.
Create
The arts are built into a Harvey education, giving students the experience of learning through creative thought and expression. Studies prove exposure to the arts directly correlates to academic success and is just as important as reading, writing, and math.
Travel
The Harvey G.O.E.S. (Global Opportunities in Enhanced Studies) program takes our students out of the classroom and around the world to pursue their studies. We've hosted trips to Japan, Italy, and in 2024 to Denmark.
Speak
Our annual schoolwide Speech Contest allows students to discover their own voice and use it to deliver a persuasive argument about a topic they are passionate about. Students gain necessary research, writing, and public speaking skills that they carry throughout their educational journey.
The Harvey School is fully accredited by, and is a member of, the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS).
Harvey is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the Educational Records Bureau (ERB).
