Senior Bridge
The final year of high school is an opportunity for students to become more independent and adventurous thinkers and learners.
This course engages seniors in inquiry and problem-based coursework, selected readings, journaling, and independent learning projects. Students hone their abilities in critical and creative thinking, self-reflection, independence, communication, collaboration, research, and time management, preparing themselves for the rigors and autonomy of college and beyond.
Our seniors gain experience designing their own road maps and following them to personal growth and in-depth, independent learning.
Throughout the seminar, students will have ample opportunity to reflect upon their journey and respond with practical goals that will guide them from their starting point through senior year and across the bridge to college.
All seniors choose a topic or area of interest and and advisor for their Independent Learning Project which they will devote several months to researching, creating, and then preparing their final presentation. All these projects are showcased in the seminar's culminating event, the Senior Bridge Expo.
