During the last week of school, Harvey Classes of 2026 and 2027 participated in two special days of programming as we came to the end of the school year.
On May 29, Carrie Donahue, LCSW, therapist, consultant, and SEL Educator, spoke to the students with guidance on how to wrap up this school year and prepare for next fall. Ms. Donahue worked with our ninth graders on exercises around value clarification and how that guides students to choose who they want to be as they move through upper school. She also discussed bullying in school communities and growing as individuals. Sophomores worked on stress management tools as they imagine themselves as "rising juniors" and beginning the back end of their high school career.
On May 30, students met with Positive Coaching Alliance coach Randy Nathan (aka Coach Randy) to discuss social media usage and the dramatic influence it has on young people. "Education on social media is part of an ongoing effort to help foster a positive and empathetic community," said Head of Upper School Phil Lazzaro.
We thank both Ms. Donahue and Coach Randy for their valuable and insightful workshops with our students.
