Harvey students combined creativity with community service in a fun and meaningful way during the Student Council’s recent Upper School Canned Food Drive and Can Castle Competition. From Jan. 30 through Feb. 5, students in their House groups collected nonperishable food donations to benefit the Community Center of Northern Westchester.

To add a creative twist, students then transformed their donated cans into imaginative castles. At Morning Meeting, the winners were announced in two categories:

🏆 Best Sculpture: "The Heart" by the Seymour/Holmes/Feeney House
🏆 Most Cans Collected (166): "The Flower" by the Lazzaro/Visintainer House

In total, students donated more than 600 cans, weighing 616 pounds, making a significant contribution to the local community. Harvey sophomores Zoe Seltzer and Sophia Kimmel helped faculty advisor Sarah Zeigler make the delivery Feb. 7.

This event showcased Harvey’s spirit of generosity, teamwork, and creativity — a true reflection of our school’s motto, Rigor with Heart.
