Student Ambassadors: Evolving as Leaders
Harvey's robust Student Ambassador program is so much more than just tour guides for the admissions office. These students have embarked on a path to strengthen their leadership and communication skills, grow as individuals, and hold themselves up as role models for their peers and prospective students.
In mid-September, these Middle and Upper School Student Ambassadors participated in a Saturday training program which featured guest speaker Chris B. Williams, a positive energy coach, co-author of the best-selling book “20 Beautiful Men,” motivational speaker, serial entrepreneur and mentor, member of the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame, ESPN analyst, and voice of the Manhattan Jaspers men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Chris enjoys working with teenagers, college students, athletes, and organizations to provide inspiration and share his optimistic outlook on life.
The day also featured Harvey Board of Trustee member Lindsey Walker '05, a longtime educator and school administrator who spoke to the students about good social media practices and the dangers of what information they put out on the internet.
The students will also participate in community service endeavors throughout the year, in addition to working closely with the Admissions Office providing tours to prospective families, serving on student panels, our upcoming Open House on Saturday, October 22, and connecting with prospective students about life at Harvey.
