One Acts Program Cover 2025

Each spring, the Lasdon Theater comes alive with original student voices during Harvey’s annual One Acts showcase. This cherished tradition features one-act plays that are entirely student-written, directed, and performed, highlighting our young theatrical artists' creativity, collaboration, and passion.

On April 25 and 26, family, friends, faculty, and staff were treated to two dynamic performances each evening: The Cubes by Addie Silva ’25, directed by Tinsley Valenti ’25, and Kingfish, written and directed by Edward (Ted) Clement ’25. Their classmates from the Playwriting class stepped into roles as actors and stage crew, supporting each other in every aspect of the production process.

The Cubes plot centered on five college students lured into a psychological experiment designed to explore humanity's predictability, where a dangerous twist awaits. The cast featured Jacob Harkins ’26, Erin Lapides ’25, Bex Waisman ’28, Eli Klagsbrun ’26, Addie Silva ’25, Sam Novarro ’26, and Lucy LaGattuta ’26.

Kingfish is a story based on the life of the remarkable Huey Pierce Long. It shows his rise to power with a focus on his interpersonal relationships. His story parallels that of Icarus as his ambition and ruthlessness leads to his untimely downfall. This play was performed by Lena Boyce ’26, Meiora Adler ’27, Emily Klein ’27, Kyler Warner ’27, Kathryn Fried ’28, Steve Liu ’26, and returning cast members Jacob, Erin, Bex, Eli, Addie, Sam, and Lucy.

Behind the scenes, Fi Guisti ’28 and Kaelyn Nicholson ’28 served as stage managers and running crew, joined by Kathryn Fried ’28. Kyler Warner ’27 operated the light board, while Mr. Esposito managed sound, props, and costumes. Lena Boyce '26 designed the cover artwork for the evening’s program.

A special thank you to faculty advisors Ms. Mahony and Ms. Silverstein for guiding the creative process and Mr. Alexander for his expertise as technical advisor.

The One Acts program continues to be a powerful example of Harvey’s commitment to student expression and the arts — giving students the platform to share their stories, support their peers, and shine on stage.
