Read All About it

This November, Harvey Middle School students have been busy growing something special — a Thankful Tree! Throughout the month, students and faculty are invited to stop by, reflect on what they’re grateful for, and write their thoughts on colorful paper leaves. Each leaf is then added to the tree, creating a beautiful display of appreciation and community spirit.

The project encourages students to pause and recognize the positive people and moments in their lives — an important part of developing social and emotional awareness. By expressing gratitude, students strengthen empathy, build a sense of belonging, and learn to focus on the good around them.

As the tree fills with leaves, it stands as a visual reminder of Harvey’s supportive and caring community, and of the joy that grows when we take time to be thankful.
