On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Harvey middle schoolers participated in a mock presidential election, with history teachers giving a lesson on the election process. The students then went through the process of standing in line and filling out their ballots in a private booth. All votes remained anonymous just so students could get a feel of what it is like to cast their vote in a presidential election.
The focus on the mock election was learning the process and importance of voting, rather than the outcome of the vote.
