Our Middle School students brought history to life through a series of creative projects inspired by the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Their work culminated in a vibrant Middle School History Fair March 30 in the Fenstermacher Athletic Center, where families and friends were invited to explore their research and ideas.
The evening began with a special presentation featuring a rare Anastatic Facsimile of the Declaration of Independence, generously provided by Jay Walker and Board Co-Chair Eileen Walker. One of only a limited number in existence, the facsimile offered a unique window into the past. Mr. Walker captivated students with insights into the document’s origins, the events surrounding its signing, and the enduring significance of its message.
Following the presentation, students took their places at thoughtfully designed exhibits, some even dressed in Revolutionary-era attire, eagerly sharing their work with visitors. As guests moved from booth to booth, they engaged in lively conversations, asked questions, and gained a deeper appreciation for this pivotal moment in American history.
Many thanks to the Walkers for making this event an unforgettable experience, and to our students for their curiosity, creativity, and impressive scholarship.
