Honors Biology Students Extract DNA and RNA
In honors biology class, Harvey Upper School students are studying DNA and RNA - the molecules that make us "who we are" and explain how we make protein in our bodies. During their lab, the bio students extracted DNA from a strawberry and also from their own cheek cells. The strawberry extraction proved to be more successful.
The students enjoyed learning the process and examining the substance that is DNA. We might have some future biologists and research scientists here!
