At the VEX VRC Regional Robotics Competition held Feb. 10 at Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers, New York, Harvey robotics team 6277C “Hard Wired” won both the Tournament Championship and the Excellence Award. With members Ryan Dey ‘26, Blake Friedman ‘24, Katie McCulloch ‘24, and Meaghan Sullivan ‘25, this team has dominated in regional events.

“Team 6277C has now attended three regional events and has been the overall champion and Excellence Award winner at all of them,” said robotics teacher and coach Chris Kelly.

Two other Harvey teams competed at the Regional event. Team 6277B with Dan Wood ‘25 and Jack Zimmerman ‘27 made it to the semifinals of competition while Team 6277D with Wyatt Bland ‘26, Casey Kelly ‘26, Talia Langer ‘26 , and Maya Taub ‘26 placed 12th among the 48 teams.

“Harvey had a banner day at an outstanding event,” said Coach Kelly. “It was fun seeing our teams in action.”

Harvey will host the 2024 Southern New York VRC State Championship  Sunday, March 3 starting at 8 a.m. in the Fenstermacher Athletic Center.
