Upper School production Dracula

Audience members had to beware as they entered Lasdon Theater on the evenings of Feb. 3 and 4 for the Upper School winter production of "Dracula" based on the legendary novel by Bram Stoker.

The audience is immediately drawn into the dark and dangerous world of unknown evil, when Dracula's tortured servant Renfield, played with brilliant madness by junior Łukasz Daszcynski, forewarns of the impending arrival of his master, Dracula, played with masterful controlled horror by senior Julian van den Tol.

Mina (senior Alexandra Silverman) fears for the safety and sanity of her fiancé Harker (senior Ari Klein) after he crosses paths with Dracula, while also tending to her friend Lucy (Ava Lazaroff '24) who unknowingly is being drawn in by Dracula's spell. Mina and Harker battle against the evil that is Dracula, with the help of Dr. Seward (Eli Klagsbrun '26) and Dr. Van Helsing (Alexa Williams '24).

A strong supporting cast includes the vixens played by Olivia Barsky '26, Chloé Ramsey Lavoie '24, and Stella Runyon '26, the spirited maid played by Carina Weksel '24, attendants Lucy LaGattuta '26 and Logan Kreisberg '26, and dancing vixens Kailey Bologh '23 and Aleah Ford-Sussman '23.

Directed by Ms. Holmes, the production featured set and lighting design by Mr. Alexander and Ms. Merola, and choreography by Ms. Gambino. A talented crew of scenic artists, costumers, props, makeup, light and sound operators truly transformed Lasdon Theater into the lair of Dracula.
