The stage was set, the lights dimmed, and the energy was electric as Harvey’s Charity Cabaret returned for its second year on March 12 — and it did not disappoint! Spearheaded again by Gabi Schneider ‘25 and Logan Kreisberg ‘26, this student-run showcase brought together an incredible lineup of talented performers united for a great cause.

“Gabi Schneider and I introduced the tradition of the Charity Cabaret to Harvey last year as a way to both showcase the incredible talent within our performing arts department and support the arts beyond our school community,” said Logan. “Lasdon Theater was filled with students, faculty, and families who watched performances from students across all grades, each singing songs they personally selected. After putting so much effort into organizing the event, it was incredibly rewarding to see our peers — and ourselves — doing what we love,” Logan said.

From Broadway classics to modern hits, students wowed the audience with show-stopping numbers from "Camelot," "Grease," "Les Misérables," "Mean Girls," "Seussical," "Beetlejuice," "Miss Saigon," "Jersey Boys," and more. The night culminated in a powerful group performance of "Louder Than Words" from "Tick, Tick… Boom!", leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.

“I feel passionate about organizing this event because it provides a performing opportunity for students that is different from the department-run performances,” shared Gabi. “The Cabaret brings the Harvey arts community together to support a night of songs chosen by the students with donations to Westchester Arts,” Gabi said.

Beyond the applause and standing ovations, the event made a real impact —raising more than $1,100 for charity, with more to come. All proceeds will go toward the Arts Westchester Nonprofit Funding Area of the New York Community Trust.

“The donations we get are representative of the support of our community, and we were able to surpass the donations from last year because of the students and faculty who gave their time and dedication,” said Gabi. “I love getting the chance to support the arts in all of Westchester through an event that fosters community and support for the arts at Harvey,” Gabi said

Gabi and Logan also extend a huge thank-you to Mr. Alexander for helping them coordinate the show, Mr. Norman for accompanying multiple numbers on piano, and Jesse Baron ‘26 for his technical assistance.

Bravo to all the performers and organizers for making this night one to remember. We can’t wait to see what next year’s Charity Cabaret has in store!
