Invited by Visual Arts teacher Ms. Nokes, Mr. Dryden joined students in the school’s Lego Masterclass to share his experience, creativity, and insight into the world of competitive Lego building. Ms. Nokes encouraged students to embrace the opportunity of “learning about Lego building from an expert,” as they explored the artistic and engineering concepts behind successful creations.

Inspired by the hit TV competition Lego Masters, the class challenges students to work in pairs or small teams to design and construct imaginative Lego sculptures based on specific themes and creative prompts. Throughout the course, students learn how the elements and principles of three-dimensional art apply to their builds while also developing collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

During his visit, Mr. Dryden spoke with students about the creative process behind large-scale Lego builds, offered guidance on construction techniques, and encouraged students to think beyond the limits of traditional design. Students were able to ask questions, share their own creations, and gain firsthand insight into what it takes to compete on a nationally recognized building competition.

The visit brought excitement and inspiration to the classroom, reinforcing how creativity, teamwork, and innovation can come together one piece at a time.
