A "tale as old as time, tune as old as song..." took center stage Nov. 10-11 as Harvey Performing Arts Upper School students performed Disney's "Beauty and The Beast: The Broadway Musical." It was a magical and captivating two evenings of performances as Belle, The Beast, and all the delightful characters from the Disney classic came to life on the Lasdon Theater stage.
Senior Chloé Ramsey Lavoie was exquisite as Belle with her enchanting spirit and insatiable curiosity for adventure, teaching us that beauty goes beyond appearance with her show-stopping vocals.
Logan Kreisberg '26 embodied The Beast with positive ferocity and ease, his vocal performance adding considerable depth to his interpretation of this compelling hero/anti-hero.
Gaston was captured perfectly by Jordan Feigenbaum '25, captivating the audience as the brawny and boastful antagonist with a huge ego. His voice filled the theater equaling his larger-than-life character.
Senior Carina Weksel's Cockney accent and comedic timing as Mrs. Potts had the audience laughing out loud. Strong performances were also delivered by Ćukasz Daszczynski '24 at Lumiere, Gabi Schneider '25 as Cogsworth, Sophia Thilo '27 as Chip, Sienna Colgan '27 as Babette, and Delilah Hickson-Bilotta '26 as Madame Dela Grande Bouche.
Rounding out the talented cast were: Alexa Williams '24, Eli Klagsbrun '26, Chloe Campbell '27, Lena Boyce '26, Olivia Barsky '26, Stella Runyan '26, Dylan Coughlin '27, Morgan Marable '27, Iva Hadzi-Mihailovic '24, Meoira (Atari) Adler '27, Lucy LaGattuta '26, and Karina Mehta '25.
The performance was directed by Mr. Alexander with musical direction by Mr. Norman. Many thanks also go to choreographer Ms. Kowalsky, guest choreographer Jamie Trial, and assistant choreographer Karina Mehta '25. Stage Managers for the musical were Jacob Harkins '26 and Erin Lapides '25 with Jesse Baron '26 as light board operator and assistant lighting designer.
