Students builing a molecule in chemistry

Harvey School News

Ten members of Harvey's National Art Honor Society visited the Katonah Museum of Art (KMA) Nov. 30 to view its current exhibition and learn about volunteer opportunities at the institution.

The students were given a tour of the current exhibit "Stories of Syria's Textiles" by the Education and Public Programs Manager Emily Altman. Next, they participated in a weaving activity led by Margaret Adasko, Curator of Education. Some of the students may be able to continue with the activity this weekend, volunteering at Family Day Sunday Dec. 3.

"Students are looking to volunteer at Family Day events at KMA, as well as some of the Creative Community Fridays held during the third Friday of every month," said Alison Nokes, Harvey art teacher and advisor for the National Art Honor Society at Harvey.

Students found the KMA visit to be very educational and are excited to volunteer their time throughout the school year.
