AP English Breathes Life into 'Hamlet'

Taking advantage of January's warmer than usual temperatures last week, Ms. Mahony's AP English class brought their study of Shakespeare's "Hamlet" to life outside Sylvan Hall, giving everyone who walked by an impromptu performance.

Studying complicated texts such as Shakespearean plays through acting out scenes not only improves understanding and intention behind the words, but also helps students develop public speaking skills and fosters team-building skills. The dramatic lesson also benefits students by improving their self-confidence and gives them a chance to be physically active and mentally sharp during the day.
