On the evening of May 29, as the final day of the school year came to a close, Harvey celebrated the 21 members of the Class of 2030 at the annual 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony in Lasdon Theater at The Walker Center for the Arts.
Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and staff, the students were recognized for their accomplishments and officially marked their transition from middle school to upper school.
Head of Middle School Dr. Brendan Byrne praised the class for embracing opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, noting their engagement, resilience, and growth throughout their middle school years. Head of School Bill Knauer encouraged students to lead with integrity, kindness, and a strong work ethic as they begin the next chapter of their Harvey journey.
The evening also featured a Moving Up Address from Harvey alumnus Rohan Cassells ’16, who reflected on his own experiences at Harvey and encouraged students to continue making a positive impact on those around them. The eighth grade members of the Middle School Chorus performed a special musical selection before students received certificates and awards.
Congratulations to the Class of 2030 on this important milestone. We look forward to welcoming you to the Upper School this fall!
