Harvey School News
Harvey families, faculty, staff, and administration came out to enjoy an informative and joyful evening at the 2022 State of the School and Welcome Back Dinner held Sept. 20 in Lasdon Theater in The Walker Center for the Arts. Head of School Bill Knauer happily welcomed everyone and remarked on how wonderful it was to celebrate together again.
The evening featured students speakers and the 2022 Impact Award recipients, as well as an overview of the state of the school report including enrollment, academics, athletics, finances, and facility updates, improvements, and projects. A delicious sit-down dinner was served as the evening progressed.
Ten students shared their own unique Harvey stories highlighting many aspects of student life, such as community, the culture at Harvey, academics, athletics, and the arts. The theme of the evening was "Imagine the Possibilities" and their personal student stories exemplified the truth behind those words, explaining how the opportunities they've found at Harvey have opened up so many possibilities for them and their futures.
Another special moment of the night was the 2022 Impact Awards. The Impact Award was launched in 2020 as a way to recognize and honor members of our community who have given back in an unprecedented way resulting in making a meaningful impact on Harvey. Every year, we honor a Harvey alum, a Harvey parent, and Harvey faculty or staff. This year's recipients are Harvey alum Jack Fasciana '02, past parent and former board member Deirdre Glascott P'19, Harvey Director of Technology and robotics teacher John Wahlers, and Middle School science teacher and dorm parent Marcie Hajem. Congratulations to all our recipients and thank you for how much you've contributed to the Harvey community.
