Sofia Marcos Munoz Will Play College Basketball

Harvey’s Sofia Marcos Munoz has signed her letter of intent to attend the College of  Mt. St. Vincent in the Bronx, New York, and play basketball for the NCAA Division III Dolphins of the Skyline Conference.

An international student from Spain attending her senior year at Harvey, Sofia had a solid season for the Cavaliers. Although she missed several games with injury in the second half of the season, the senior captain finished second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game and earned an HVAL All-League selection.

Harvey Director of Athletics Ray Lacen is happy to see that Sofia will be playing college ball close by in the New York metropolitan area. “I am very excited for Sofia. She is a terrific player who did a great job for us this past winter, both as a go-to player and as a leader. Mt. St. Vincent’s is getting an outstanding individual.”

Sofia plans to study criminal justice. Her signing followed immediately after she received her diploma at Commencement June 9.
