Phoebe Rosenthal to Play D1 Soccer

Harvey senior Phoebe Rosenthal has signed her letter of commitment to attend Elon University in North Carolina and play soccer for the Division I Phoenix.

A 10-year member of the New York Soccer Club (NYSC), Phoebe has honed her soccer skills in daily two-hour practices and in tournament games throughout the country. In the ninth grade, the one season Phoebe took off from participating in NYSC games, she enjoyed an MVP season for Harvey, earning Housatonic Valley Athletic League All-League and Western New England Prep School Soccer Association (WNEPSSA) All-Star recognition. After leading the Cavaliers in assists, Phoebe capped off her season by scoring two goals in the WNEPSSA All-Star game.

Phoebe says she is “extremely happy” to be playing for Elon, currently ranked No. 89 among the more than 300 D-I women’s soccer teams in the country. Excited to join a program that has produced 19 winning seasons, Phoebe hopes to help the Phoenix rise in the national rankings and looks forward to meeting her new teammates.

Harvey athletic director Ray Lacen said, "We wish Phoebe the very best. She will be an alum all Cavalier athletes can strive to emulate."

Phoebe, who has earned a place on the Head's List, plans to major in physical education at Elon.
