Middle School Interactive Workshop

Harvey Middle School students participated in grade-level workshops Nov. 17 centered around the themes of Culture, Community, and Kindness. Organized by school counselor Jacquie Butera, these interactive workshops were led by therapist, counselor, and social emotional learning educator Carrie Donahue.

Students were provided opportunities to share, listen, learn, and demonstrate caring. Additionally, they practiced active listening skills and empathy while discussing their experiences at school.

"Our hope is that through these types of workshops, students can enhance their sense of connection, belonging, and agency around growing and maintaining friendships and healthy boundaries," says Dr. Brendan Byrne, head of middle school. "Students did a wonderful job being enthusiastically engaged throughout the workshop."
