Ski team head coach Simon Leibovic praised his team’s senior captain and MVP for possessing “a rare combination of talent and humility.” The coach added, “Spencer had tremendous success race after race. but he never let the success go to his head.” This fall, Spencer will be attending the University of Denver in Colorado where he should have an abundance of opportunities to ski.

Named the top female student-athlete was junior Kathryn Ogg, a co-captain on the girls varsity basketball team and a top student in her class with a grade-point average of 4.10 for the winter term. Kathryn, only one of two returning players on the roster of the 2019-20 basketball squad, excelled in her leadership role and led her team in rebounding and in minutes played.

Girls varsity basketball head coach Robert Bruckner said no player worked harder than Kathryn. The coach called her the team’s “workhorse” for giving maximum effort in both games and practices. Coach Bruckner also praised her in-game leadership. “Kathryn understood game plans and executed them to perfection,” the coach said.

In making the announcement, Director of Athletics Ray Lacen said, “Spencer and Kathryn stand out for having the one quality that makes everyone around them better and will serve them well in the future, their selflessness. Both individuals are true student/athletes in every sense of the term.”
