Students builing a molecule in chemistry

Harvey School News

Every year, Harvey seniors volunteer their time and go out into the community for a Senior Day of Service. On April 12, seniors traveled to Stamford, Connecticut, spending time together as a class and giving back to those in need.

Dividing into groups, the seniors were able to help several different organizations. Seniors visited two different locations of the Children's Learning Center, hosting a carnival for the preschoolers. Harvey students have volunteered with this organization many times before and thoroughly enjoy entertaining the young children who attend these centers.

Students also stocked shelves at the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County. The students found it rewarding to fill up the shelves with donated food, check expiration dates, and help with moving large cases of donated foods.

Another group of seniors took advantage of school being out of session to give a deep spring cleaning to the Boys and Girls Club of Stamford's Yerwood Center.

Student leaders Charlotte Levy, Sophia Scarsella, Harrison Fontaine, and Courtney Warren helped to plan and organize the day.
