Harvey Student Selected to Exhibit Art Work at Bruce Museum

Harvey Student Selected to Exhibit Art Work at Bruce Museum

Harvey rising junior Sasha Simon is one of 53 area high school students to have artwork selected to be part of the 10th annual iCreate exhibition at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut. Sasha's work was selected from over 650 submissions from high schools in Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Sasha's piece, titled "Monkey Brain," depicts cupped hands made from plaster and covered with acrylic paint on a canvas composed of pencil shavings and acrylic.

"I created this piece to convey the consistency and continuity of humanity within our ever industrializing society," said Sasha. "In an age where the line between a robotic mind and a conscious mind is being blurred, the question of our own humanity is being constantly trivialized."

The iCreate exhibition seeks to promote the importance of art education, celebrate creativity, and inspire the student artists and those who come to see the artwork. The exhibition is on display at the Bruce Museum through July 21.

We are so proud to have Sasha representing The Harvey School.
