Everton Browne has entered Harvey’s 1,000 career-point club, joining only five others who reached the milestone while donning a varsity basketball uniform for the Cavaliers.

In Monday's matchup against HVAL rival Wooster in Danbury, Browne needed 29 to reach 1,000. He scored 32. The 5-foot-9-inch guard's 1,000 career point came in the second half when he pulled up from deep and drained a 3-pointer.

Browne’s historic achievement gave his coaches and teammates reason to celebrate despite losing the game 77-53 to the Generals. It was Harvey’s third loss in four games as the Cavs are now 9-8 overall.

Disappointed his team suffered a loss to a league rival, Harvey coach Denis Arnautovic was happy, however, to see the team’s leading scorer enter the school’s history books.” It is incredible to watch Everton grow and develop as a player. He is constantly working on his game, and this milestone is proof of his determination to take his game to the next level. I'm so proud of him. Everton is a very special player.”

In discussing his feat following the game, Browne said, “I am proud that I have reached 1,000 points as a Harvey Cavalier. This is a huge milestone for me as a student-athlete. It has been a dream of mine to have my name hanging up in the gym, and now I have finally accomplished it.”

Browne thanked his parents, coaches, and teammates for “always being supportive” and for giving him the opportunity to reach one of his personal goals. He added, “This isn't my end goal, but this is a huge milestone for myself as a basketball player.”

Browne now joins the ranks of Tyrone Foster ’93, Steve Masiello ’96, Tré Wilson ’11, Ricky Hicks ’15, and Julia Mallon ’18 in Harvey’s 1000-point club in varsity basketball.
