Harvey Offers Local Students Online Courses for Summer Session

Katonah - The Harvey School announces its seventh consecutive offering of the eHarvey online summer session. This year’s session will begin on Monday, June 25 and end on Friday, August 10. The program offers 7 weeks of intensive study online with teacher support. The cost of a course is $875 for all courses, except for modern languages and AP which require an additional fee due to the need for additional work with an instructor.

The cost includes access to the online curriculum, access to Moodle (Harvey’s content management system), and access to Blackboard Collaborate (our virtual classroom).

Program Director Michelle Christie said, “As always, we commit to a 24-hour turnaround time for any student questions, and 1-3 hours each week of online support from the course instructor.” If students require extra assistance, parents can purchase a support package of additional online hours with the instructor. This price does not include additional materials, which may be required for certain courses.

Christie said Harvey’s online courses are geared toward children of high school age. In addition to taking a full-year of course content for complete credit, the program also offers a credit recovery program that will allow students to earn partial credit for courses. “Our credit recovery program goes beyond the traditional summer school program by allowing students to customize the course content they need to make up,” explained Christie. She said, “Students can “test out” of specific content they understand and instead focus on the content they struggled with during the regular school year.”
