'Lightning Lessons' Strike Again
Posted 04/11/2017 05:48PM

Lightning Lessons made their return to the Upper School Monday, April 10, as several students went to the head of the class to share their knowledge in various subjects including history, government, literature, art, science and dance.

The mini-lessons plugged into the Community Meeting time slot saw students leading discussions on such topics as “Sincerity in Literature,” “The Power of Color,” “The Supreme Court,” “Roman Versus U.S Democracy” and “Human Rights.” In the Arts Center, Isabelle Danielle, Chloe Savitch and Kayla Smith led a class in techniques of ballet and jazz.

When first-year Head of School Bill Knauer shifted the focus of the weekly Monday morning meeting to a more community-centered session, the change allowed both students and staff to use the time to engage the school community in interesting mini-lessons on a wide-range of topics.

One other workshop focused on the game of chess while another looked at “Cinematography and Basketball.”
